Goth-rock, or Dark-Glam as the band prefer, pioneers Bauhaus will be performing at London’s Brixton Academy in August this year. The gig follows the release of new material, ‘Drink The New Wine’ – their first single since 2008. Formed in 1979, the band have been of huge influence to others particularly after the release of the single, ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ which is considered to be the first gothic rock record, yet it did not appear on any Bauhaus album. “In The Flat Field”, their first studio release in 1980, is brilliantly themed and contains some of their most powerful tracks. Live performances by the band were soon reviewed in high regard especially with Peter Murphys stage presence, they are not to be missed.
