This week we are so excited because Boris Johnson announced the return of live events was imminent and this time we really believe it is going to happen! We have waited so long that our feeling is that going back to live events is going to be better than ever and really bring the scene back bigger than before. Never so much are we going to appreciate these wonderful experiences, the beautiful venues which we hope are still there to greet us when we go back, the mingling with complete strangers next to you because you have the music in common or hugging the person next to you at a match just because you scored a goal. It truly will be an emotional time.
So, here is what to expect all going well. Pilot events can happen from April which should mean some socially distanced shows with reduced capacity going ahead, the likes of which we saw last September. For example, The London Palladium held several shows very successfully for Van Morrison. Perhaps even outdoor matches where capacities of 2000 were allowed in like we saw at Brighton and Liverpool/Everton football matches. Think we all agree it was better than nothing for sure!
From May 17th normal outdoor events of up to 4000 capacity or 50% of venue can go ahead. In addition larger outdoor seated events of up to 10000 people or 25% capacity can also return. Also indoor events can properly return with reduced capacity of 1000 people or 50% capacity.
Then here is the big one, June 21st, where everything returns back to normal. This should mean the run of BST Hyde Park shows goes ahead and the late summer festivals. Maybe Diana Ross on June 21st itself at the O2 Arena will be the first indoor arena show to get the go ahead!
All in all it is exciting beyond belief and we have plenty of tickets across many different events spread throughout the UK, for you to choose from. Whether it is comedy, music, talk shows we should have something suitable for everyone and if we don’t then please make use of our Concierge Request facility where we can quote and source tickets for you.
We will keep everyone updated as time goes on with all the latest news so all that is left to say is, get your glad rags back on, dust off the converse and prepare to get back out there!!
