The Corn Exchange, right in the center of Cambridge, has had a colourful past. At first it was, as the name suggests, the local marketplace to buy and sell corn. Over the years it has been transformed many times serving the local community as a place riots, motor shows, grocers, roller skating, wrestling and boxing bouts, and county badminton matches. During WWII it was used by woman to clean and repair rifles. During the 70’s it became a place for pop concerts and exhibitions. In 1972 ex-Pink Floyd founder, Syd Barrett, makes his last ever musical appearance right here at the Corn Exchange. In 1982 the venue was transformed again into a proper concert hall for live pop, rock, classical music, dance, comedy and more.
